Russian Ballet Troup Return to Pitlochry

Pitlochry Festival Theatre favourites Moscow Ballet return for a fourth time with two (2pm and 7.30pm) sure-to-sell-out performances of Coppélia on Saturday 5th March.

A classical ballet in three acts, originally choreographed by Arthur Saint-Léon for the Paris Opéra to a libretto in which he collaborated with Charles Nuitter, and set to music by Léo Delibes, Coppélia features constantly in the repertoire of the world’s leading ballet companies and is widely regarded as one of the jewels of classical ballet.

This ballet tells the story of flirtatious Franz is captivated by a beautiful stranger – to the despair of his feisty fiancée Swanilda.  But, of course, it’s all a bit of a wind-up (pun intended!) and true love eventually wins the day in this truly enchanting tale of the eccentric Doctor Coppélius and his beautiful clockwork creation.

A hugely enjoyable dance-spectacular, perfect for ballet lovers of all ages. You can book online by clicking here or by calling PFT’s box office on 01796 48462 to or by emailing This e-mail address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it .

History

From 1951 to the 21st Century...

Discover our history "When staying in Pitlochry during the early part of the war, I chanced to see a stately house with a fairly large garden, quite close to the town. I at once realised that here my dream theatre might well be established in this fashionable resort right in the heart of Scotland"… John Stewart, Founder of Pitlochry Festival Theatre.
