News that Pitlochry Festival Theatre has opened it's doors to all charities working in Perthshire to come and see their fun filled family pantomime this year - Sleeping Beauty - for free, was greeted with enthusiastic (and festive) cheers by project workers at The Gateway Centre in Perth today. "Partnering with PKAVS is a huge step forward" said Giles Conisbee (pictured), Chief Marketing Elf at Pitlochry Festival Theatre, adding "it means that by working together, we are able to spread the word far and wide that only 20 minutes up the A9 from Perth, there's a beautiful (if somewhat sleepy) princess, a heroic prince and some villains (boo hiss!) waiting to entertain all that enter the doors of the famous Pitlochry Festival Theatre this Christmas!
Staff from Perthshire's largest local charity PKAVS were delighted to get involved and will be helping to spread the news to other local charities. Helen MacKinnon (pictured), PKAVS Marketing Manager commented: "Thanks to this fantastic gesture by Pitlochry Festival Theatre, 80 young carers, parent carers and their families will now be enjoying a fun-filled trip to the pantomime over the festive season. Every year, PKAVS works hard to bring Christmas cheer to those who need it most, and I know that the many families we support will love this wonderful Christmas gift".
Sleeping Beauty opens at Pitlochry Festival Theatre on 15th December and continues until 7th January, 2012. Call box office on 01796 484626 or buy online. "When staying in Pitlochry during the early part of the war, I chanced to see a stately house with a fairly large garden, quite close to the town. I at once realised that here my dream theatre might well be established in this fashionable resort right in the heart of Scotland"… John Stewart, Founder of Pitlochry Festival Theatre.
