It’s curtain up on the six outstanding plays which make up the 2008 Summer Season. The choice is wider than ever, with something to suit every taste and interest, from Georgian comedy and contemporary drama to historical romance and 1970s farce. For that perfect afternoon or evening’s entertainment, you need look no further than the Pitlochry Season this summer!
Country Matters Hamlet’s famous euphemism for the more intimate side of human relationships is the theme for the six plays this season, all of which deal with affairs of the heart. In its own particular way, each play explores how love (and occasionally lust!) affects the way we think, behave and view the world around us.
A Unique Combination Ask any visitor to PFT what draws them back year after year and you’ll get a range of different answers. For some, it’s the attraction of seeing all six productions performed by one of the largest acting ensembles in the UK, where well-kent faces blend with exciting new talent. For others, it’s the exceptionally high standards to which the plays are produced and for which PFT in internationally renowned. Then there’s the extraordinary repertoire system, which allows you to see six different plays in six days. And finally, there’s PFT’s spellbinding location at the very heart of Scotland. Combine these in one magical experience and it’s easy to see why 60,000 theatre-goers are attracted to Pitlochry each year.
