There’s No Place Like . . .
. . . Pitlochry Festival Theatre - and the 2009 Summer Season plays (literally) to our strengths! Our six productions this year offer superb entertainment and the familiar Festival Theatre trademarks: fantastic costumes, beautifully realised sets and thrilling performances from our talented acting company. And to make sure that everyone can share in The Pitlochry Experience, we’ve introduced a new auditorium seating plan which increases the number of seats in the lowest price band from 24 to 140!
The Home Season
In celebration of Scotland’s Year Of Homecoming, the 2009 Summer Season - which begins in May - is entitled Home and contains six marvellous works by Scottish authors, each reflecting a different aspect of Scotland’s culture and identity. As always, the selection is nothing if not wide ranging! We don’t want to make a song and dance about it, but we are very proud to be staging the World Première of Whisky Galore – A Musical! Definitely not to be missed. Elsewhere, there’s J.M. Barrie’s delightful Edwardian comedy, What Every Woman Knows, Muriel Spark’s classic schooldays drama, The Prime of Miss Jean Brodie, Liz Lochhead’s hilarious romantic comedy, Good Things, and a riotous Scots farce, The Servant o’ Twa Maisters. And for something very different, there’s Simon Donald’s contemporary crime story, The Life Of Stuff: gripping, violent and wickedly funny.
